Who we are and what we do...
“JamJar is London’s best kept secret when it comes to flowers. The brainchild of former Take 2 Model Director Melissa Richardson and i-D designer Jocelyn Lloyd, JamJar offers bespoke floral designs in an eclectic choice of beautiful vases and jam jars. Pouring passion and personality back into floristry by the vase-load, Melissa and Jocelyn inject floral fantasticness into London’s leading fashion houses and design agencies on a weekly basis, as well as turning their green fingers to weddings, parties and photoshoots up and down the country. If you want to join those in the know, pull the thorn from your side, flip over a new leaf and embrace some good old-fashioned flower power.” i-D Magazine, Summer 2011

Joce Lloyd
Joce grew up on a beautiful farm outside Hay-on-Wye with her sister and two cousins. Surrounded by stunning landscapes and woodland it was impossible not to develop an appreciation for nature.
At 19 she headed east to the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, where she obtained a degree in Graphic Design. She then moved to London where she worked for Take 2 Models, running the art department. Here she met Melissa and their mutual love of flowers blossomed. Keeping a balance between her design roots and passion for flowers, Joce now splits her time between her role as designer for i-D magazine and JamJar.
Her first house in London was off Columbia road, famous for it’s weekly flower market. She now lives in Clapton with her boyfriend Bugsy and their son Otis, and has transformed their once desolate garden in to a haven of wildflowers and vegetables.
Melissa Richardson
Melissa Richardson (Alexander) was brought up in Sussex in a house surrounded by a beautiful walled garden where she first gained her love of flowers. After school and a brief interlude at the Drama Centre she worked as a stylist and casting director before starting her business, Take 2 Model Management, in 1982 at the age of 26 with two friends Gabriella Palmano and Mairead Lewin. The agency quickly gained success as one of the new boutique agencies so fashionable in the 80’s and went on to represent some of the greatest models of the next three decades. Including Jade Jagger, Saffron Aldridge, Sophie Dahl, Jacquetta Wheeler, Natalia Vodianova, Eugenia Volodina and Christina Hendricks. They opened “the coolest men’s division in the world” in the 90′s. In 2009 after 27 years of trading Melissa decided that she wanted a complete change of direction and the idea of JamJar Flowers was conceived. She finds that working with flowers has more similarities than she had imagined with representing models in that both hang their heads and droop if you don’t treat them nicely.
Melissa is married to Charlie Alexander and has a stepson, a son and a daughter. They live in Brixton.
